Abstract

The aim of this op-ed is to inform the debate surrounding autonomy in children by sketching the position of Swiss-German psychologist Arno Gruen, former professor of psychology at Rutgers University New Jersey and practicing psychoanalyst in Switzerland, and to apply his understanding of autonomy to paediatric practice.
