Abstract
Common to all dysmorphic syndromes is a great phenotypic variability of clinical manifestations. In contrast to pediatric syndromes due to chromosomal aberrations, endocrinopathies, and congenital infections, where specific parameters allow definite diagnoses, it is much more difficult to identify syndromes due to teratogenic damage, which is suspected in prenatally alcohol exposed children. In patients with this disorder one can only describe a very complex but almost specific pattern of major and minor symptoms.
