Abstract

Results of final melting and homogenization temperatures from synthetic inclusions produced hydrothermally in the systems H2O, H2O-NaCl, and H2O-CO2 were acquired independently via five different heating/freezing stages at four laboratories. The results for the different stages (USGS gas flow, Chaixmeca (first generation), two Linkam THM600, Linkam THMSG600 stages) are compared and corresponding densities and density ranges from commonly used equations of state are derived. We discuss the accuracy of our temperature measurements compared to the precision of the synthetic fluid inclusion method in order to get P - V - T data of supercritical fluids.
