Abstract
Immunization status and history of vaccine-preventable diseases were taken from 107 elective students with rotation in the University Children`s Hospital, Basel, Switzerland. Immunization records were complete in 88, incomplete in 8 and missing in 11 students. Criteria for greater than or equal to 1 catch-up immunization were found in 67 students. A systematic immunization program for medical students appears to be justified.
