Abstract
Archaeozoologists are often only included in the analysis of cremations at a late stage or even not at all. This paper discusses the many types of animal remains that are found in funerary contexts and provides some suggestions about methodological approaches to the study of these remains. Two case studies demonstrate the potential of interdisciplinary funerary research.
