Abstract
Walking in the city is practice as old as the city itself. Walking is sometimes funcational movement, sometimes privilege. The reader addresses architects and cultural anthropologists for their respective work in urbanism and cultural analysis. The volume consists essentially of translations of articles by French scholars: Sansot, Augoyard, Pétonnet, Lefebvre, Thibaud, and two German authors, Siegfried and Rolshoven.
