Des espaces suspendus au fil de la parole

In this article, we inquire into the construction of the objects of verbal interaction, in order to analyze the constitution, maintenance and transformation of social order. Simultaneously we discuss practical problems connected to the analysis of data from interviews. The examples we present are from texts attempting the multi-voiced elaboration of an urban identity. The analysis centers on formal aspects of content, on their relationship with the global coherence of their verbalization and on the complex articulation between statements. It seems that the material aspects of words, and even their sonic dimension, plays an important role in ongoing verbalization.
