Abstract
At present, Jewish Identification among the Igbos from Southeastern Nigeria surfaces frequently and can be traced back in literary documents to the eighteenth century. Some of the early literary descriptions of Ethiopian Jews and Igbos were written in the setting of a millenarian Evangelical movement in the British Empire. Although their histories take different paths their place on the margins of Jewish history has led them to cross paths in contemporary Israel. The visit of an Ethiopian Rabbi to the Igbo Jewish Community in Israel can be seen as a sign of a growing Solidarity amongst African Jews.
