Abstract
The topography of the hexagonally packed intermediate layer of Deinococcus radiodurans and 2D crystals reconstituted from porin-lipopolysaccharide complexes and phospholipids were imaged using a scanning tunneling microscope and a scanning force microscope at ambient pressure. The results are compared with images obtained by electron microscopy and image processing.
