Abstract
The Swiss Federal Council has enacted a new Banking Ordinance that will come into force as of August 1, 2017. The new rules are in principle reasonable and necessary modernizations of the Swiss financial market regulations that will likely induce further growth of crowdfunding and other branches of the Swiss FinTech industry. The amendments, however, raise fundamental questions that should have been examined in more detail.
