Abstract
The reaction of 2,2′: 6′,2″: 6″,2‴-quaterpyridine (qtpy) with yttrium(III) compounds has been investigated. The only complexes which have been obtained are of 1:1 yttrium : qtpy stoichiometry. The crystal structure of the salt [Y(qtpy)(NO3),(H2O)] [NO3]·H2O is reported.
