Abstract
To date only three species of freshwater Nematomorpha (Gordiida) are known from Switzerland. We report here the finding of two further species, the common species Gordionus violaceus (Baird, 1853) and a new species, G. bageli sp. n., in Switzerland. A diagnostic character for this species is the ring-shaped form of the adhesive warts, structures that are found on the ventral side of males, anterior to the cloacal opening.
