Abstract

Carbonyl compds. are readily acetalized under mild conditions in the presence of catalytic amts. of Rh(III)-MeC(CH2PPh2)3 complexes. Thus cyclohexanone reacted with HOCH2CH2OH to give 84% acetal I.
